We’re Goran & Tatiana – a couple with a deep love for Medellin and Colombia. Goran is from Croatia, grew up in Switzerland, and has called Medellin home since 2018.
Tatiana is Colombian, born and raised and lives in Medellin since 2010.
Together, we’ve explored every corner of the city – from hidden gems to everyday life. Medellin isn’t just where we live – it’s where our story begins. This About Medellin Insider page gives you an honest look at why we fell in love with this city and want to share its secrets with you.
We started Medellin Insider to share that story with you – through real tips, honest insights, and local love.
As a digital nomad, Goran first came to Medellin in 2018 – and quickly realized he’d found more than just a base. After traveling to dozens of countries across Latin America, Europe and Asia, he fell in love with the city and the country – until it became home.
A few years later, he met Tatiana – born and raised in Colombia – and together, we’ve been exploring the country and the world ever since. As a couple, as travelers, and now as husband and wife, Medellin remains our anchor and our favorite place to return to.
While meeting travellers and receiving family and friends in Colombia – we noticed one thing: the Medellin we love is rarely the one you see online. It’s not just Comuna 13 and Provenza. It’s not just Guatape day trips and flashy Instagram views..
Medellin is full of unexpected stories, local secrets, music, football, scenic views, vibes, and unforgettable contrasts. That’s the Medellin we want to share – that’s the Medellin we fell in love with.
